We haven’t been around for a while as we have been trying to keep motivate enough to survive this scenario we are in so, here is a little recap of what i have been involved myself.

As the pandemic haven’t been too helpful for events organisers in April i had the idea of making a Home Event relating sports with the lockdown we had. People was running on their houses 1k, 3k and 5k distances to keep motivated and stay strong and healthy practising some sport.

When the lockdown finished *here in Barcelona, Spain, i thought even we could not compite facing another athletes we would have the option doing it in virtual/online mode so i thought it would be great to set up a platform where runners and brands could get in touch each-other. Runners competing our events and brands having a different manner to be announced.

I set up in June, the Global Challenge, this event consisted in running from anywhere you were the distances of 1k, 5k and 10k, we had 2 collaborators/sponsors SouthernRunners and, 50 runners joined the event in more than 20 locations, Spain, Denmark, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal and Philippines.

In July we were back with a second edit, Global Challenge 2.0, also you could run from anywhere but distances where 5k, 3k, 1k, we increased to 4 collaborators/sponsors SouthernRunners,, Siroko and SportNutrition, we had 60 runners from Spain, England, Denmark and France.

In August, “holidays time in Europe”, we set up a PlayOffs final with 32 runners from Spain and England, having EagleSocks,, SportNutrition, SouthernRunners and Siroko as Sponsors/collaborators. This event was set by elimination rounds until we reached a Final Four.

From September 17th until December 23rd we set up the Virtual Running League, with 7 races in the calendar, 10k, 5k and half-marathon distances, you could run by teams or in your own, 58 runners in 16 teams we had participating, running in more than 25 different locations. A League with points format for each division in individual and team mode. Here we increased the quality of them cause of the improvement in Sponsors, races and runners. We had trophies and medals for podium and the team winner, also prizes from Sponsors at the end of the league and challenges along the event if you improve your results as athlete. We were,, Hidratacion Deportiva, Sural, SpherePro, BeUrbanRunning, VitaminWell, Running_es, CrownSportNutrition, Nutritape_Bcn, Kinetrainings and Trtraining_hc as a collaborators/sponsors.

The most important we take from all this advances is, the community created and what sports can do even in the pandemic pic we are.

Sports Vs Covid-19

Still at home watching by the window how Covid-19 progress into our lives, Italy, Spain, (Barcelona, where I live) and more than 190 countries having the virus coming into their houses but, somehow seeing how the world (everyone going the same direction) forgets about colors, ethnicities, rivalry and help each other to stop the virus. HELP, doesn’t understand about differences when it’s need.

Athletes, sports organizations making donations & fun raising money to help their medical system in the countries where they act. Here in Barcelona best soccer player of all time Lionel Messi & best world coach Pep Guardiola donate 1 million € each for a hospital and lab to make better their moves into the Covid-19 pandemic war, I have seen also Gerard Pique (FCBarcelona player), Fernando Alonso (MotorSport) joining this campaign where Pau Gasol (NBA) & Rafael Nadal (Tennis no2.) are working in a fund raising hand to hand with Red Cross at slogan “We want to get our best victory” here in Spain. Is time to be all together.

Is so nice seeing athletes and sport organizations are helping in this situation happening worldwide with the economic power they have. And us in the social media sharing positives vibes to stimulate happiness the much we can which is one of the main reasons to have your immunologic system ready for any inconvenience. So, while you are at home, stay connected with people you love, keep your mind busy, do some exercise (you can join some sport home challenge like 3/5/8/10k home run at, learn cooking in better level as you do… 🙂

From all those people who are lovers of Sports; from this little boy/girl supporting the basketball team of their school to the ones we suffer every time we watch our team pursuing the win in Tv or even going to the Stadium to support them. Now we playing a big game against, Covid-19.

Since we suffering the Covid-19, lots of Sport events they been cancelled worldwide, Cycling, UEFA Champions League, NBA, Football Eurocup 2020 post to 2021, Masters 1000ATP, MotoGP, etc. etc. any of this sport events where involving athletes, workers and fans in risk to be infected by the virus, now is time to be safe and take care of ourselves, stay with family, friends and being respectful with the measures governments are taking to keep your country safe, lets all work together with positive emotional thoughts to keep cool our physical and mental health to win the game that Covid-19 is playing with us and come back to our society stronger, remember we play at home we all together.

Back on the days they already had the same thoughts about how to get visibility and notoriety of their brands “here i am”, generate traffic “this is me” and sales “people buying their product”, one of the differences we have today are the tools we have to make better moves and make the best of it each time we are out there Sponsoring, so. Tactics to find Sponsorship

Is very difficult to identify and reach the right Sponsor to fit into your project. There are different companies lines to follow and reach the right one so, here our question. What are some of the most successful tactics you utilize to get Sponsorship?

  1. Go to events they are already sponsoring and talk to people who are maintaining their tables & Handing out Business Cards.
  2. Search what values, vision and mission they have to fit into your project.
  3. What product and consumers they have.
  4. Partnerships they have.

  6. Return on Investment. What you offer? How they will see theirselves in a period of time?

Slam Dunk Contest

We all followers of NBA wait each year to see the ALL-Star Game and 4 days ago we had the opportunity to see the exhibition of NBA athletes to us, the supporters. It is an incredible show and, how can someone leaps over 7ft 5 (2,26 m) and not win the contest?

What do you think are the lines judges follow in a Slam Dunk Contest to score and rank the 16 dunks?

Do you think Aaron Gordon was robbed? Many people thinks hell yea, what you think about?

Also, if you were Aaron Gordon and feel you have been robbed, would you give up not playing again the Slam Dunk contest in 2021? Or Will see this as another opportunity to do it better next time?

Sport Values

Premier League Clubs are charging up to 700$ to children to enjoy the experience of being mascots for games.

For a child walking out in front of their favourite club home stadium alongside of their heroes is a dream, so well, now became a privilege for some children in Premier League. Where are the values of this Clubs?

We understand Sport is a Business but this is too much, if this clubs don’t have any other plan to make more money than asking families up to 700$ to have their children as a mascots for their heroes, honestly I believe are full of ways to get this situation working out better.

Like this, is SAD.

What is Sport Marketing?

A theoretic way of saying what’s Sport Marketing, i would say, it is a way of complementing activities that they have been design to arrive in the desire & needs of consumers of sport goods in an exchange process.

Is the application of techniques & tools of Marketing into Sport industry.

Philip Knight, CO- FOUNDER & CEO of Nike until 2004, was one of the founders of Sports Marketing, as he started signing millionaire contracts within athletes and Nike. More than 30 years after, other industries joined sponsoring Sports Industry we can find car industry with Rafael Nadal, champagne in motor sports, luxury watches in Tennis, banks at Formula 1 or Teams like Scuderia Ferrari, etc. all this companies they are investing millions of dollars, winning a huge worldwide impact.

There are two types of this Sport Marketing:

  1. Promotion of Sport Events & Entities.
  2. Diffusion of brands or products through Events & Entities.

They have differences within; is not the same to promote and event like World Basketball Championship in Japan than take actions into the Event to promote brands, etc. They both work together tho.

About Sport Marketing & Values I believe has to go together in a way of thinking; Sports with Entities establishing a common communication strategy. Values one of the keys to be stronger against your competitors.

Kobe Bryant “Mamba”

A sad news started early Sunday, i was expecting to rest watching some Sport events online. How did it go on NBA today, news from FC Barcelona, La Liga (Spanish League), if it was any news about the new F1, Australian Open and suddenly pop up on my phone, “Kobe Bryant passed away in an helicopter crash…” OMG. My body was shacking, I forgot about all the rest and went into that news, confirmed. Kobe Bryant one of the greatest players in history died, at 41. Just 41, with lots of things to do in life yet, retired of basketball 3 year before.

He was an example to everybody because of his pure values, always focus to be better person & athlete, leadership, competitive, motivational, inspiring people, confidence, always sharing his passion, loving people and learning from others. You are a Legend and you will be always in our heart “Mamba”.

Let me put you in situation. ADIDAS born in 1920, its first appearing Sponsoring was in the Olympic Games of Berlin 1936 >wining 4 gold medals because the athlete Jesse Owens was wearing ADIDAS running shoes. After that, they realise how much important was to relate their brand to top athletes and also, the huge impact had in Tv, stepping to the TOP Sport Company in the world.

World Cup 1954 > Germany wins wearing ADIDAS football boots, again on the Top of the World. At the Olympic Games of Melbourne, again ADIDAS gives to Germany National Team running shoes. TOP athletes wearing their shoes in the biggest Sport Event in the World.

PUMA, was the company who took this competition of being the best more serious against ADIDAS. In the World Cup of 1970 they contacted “O Rei” Pelé, offering one of the biggest bags of money to wear PUMA’S football boots, he agreed and you know what happen? PUMA told him to ask one minute before the final started to the referee if he could tie his PUMA, now imagine PUMA’S impact caused to the World when Tv catches “O Rei” tying in slow motion his boots before a World Cup Final.
